Ali Akbari holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc degree in Structural Engineering from Kharazmi University of Tehran, Iran. His master thesis was entitled “Seismic evaluation of repairable steel frames with rocking core” under the supervision of Professor A. Massumi and advising of Professor M. Grigorian. He is experienced in Civil Engineering computer software including SAP2000, ETABS, and Structural Earthquake Engineering software OpenSees. His research interests include: • Performance-Based Design of Structures • Seismic Strengthening, Retrofitting, and Rehabilitation of Structures • Structures and Infrastructures Performance Evaluation under Extreme Loadings • Smart Materials and Structures
