My name is Amirhossein Karimizadeh, and I am currently pursuing an Erasmus Mundus master's degree in evolutionary biology at LMU and Uppsala University. With a background in lab work and bioinformatics, my areas of interest are evolutionary biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and neuroscience. I have done research projects at the Max Planck institute for biological intelligence, LMU university, ISEM in Montpellier, and University of Tehran.
I have completed various research projects, including investigating the evolution of enzymes, exploring MMP protein expansions, examining the phylogenetics of the Russulacea family, studying speciation and hybrid sterility, analyzing time perception and gamification, and conducting comparative RNA profiling of mood disorders. My project on time perception and gamification won the national neuroscience competition.
Prior to my master's program, I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Tehran, one of the top universities in Iran, and was among the top graduates. I have been awarded two scholarships, including the scholarship of supporters foundation of the University of Tehran and the Erasmus+ scholarship through Montpellier University.
