I’m Emadoddin Dorrani, a master’s student in Polymer Engineering. My research focuses on optimizing additive manufacturing, specifically using square-orifice nozzles in FDM printing to improve layer adhesion and reduce voids in printed parts. I also work on polymer blend compatibilization, nanocomposites, and creating superhydrophobic surfaces, with a particular interest in using AFM and SEM data for predicting the performance of polymer coatings.
In addition to my research, I’m learning how to apply machine learning techniques to better understand material properties. I also use Python for data analysis and visualizations, developing custom scripts to streamline my research processes. I’ve had the opportunity to mentor undergraduate students and assist in graduate-level courses in polymer rheology and materials characterization.
I’m interested in continuing my studies with a focus on combining AI and materials science to develop advanced, sustainable polymer composites for use in various industries, particularly in energy and manufacturing.
