My name is Faezeh Ghasemi, and I graduated in 2021 with a master’s degree in International Relations, Reginal Studies from Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU), a well-known university in human sciences in Iran (https://ur.isc.ac/), with a GPA of 3.74/4.0 (ranked within the top 10% of my graduating class). My thesis was about “Georgia’s foreign policy from a geopolitical perspective; based on the Grand Chess Board Doctrine by Brzezinski”. I recently submitted an article from my thesis with the same title to the International Quarterly of Geopolitics, although it is not published yet. (http://journal.iag.ir/?lang=en)
I also send a paper to Elsevier, the title is “Geopolitical analysis of Georgia’s foreign policy; based on James Rosenau foreign policy theory (2008-2022)”. In addition, I also submitted several research note in Academia as well.
Likewise, I had other related experiences as follows; an internship project held in the foreign ministry of Iran in 2017, and I attended several international conferences about regional issues, also I took part in an exchange program in Russia for a semester to conduct my MA thesis in 2019, and after graduation, I had good cooperation with international relations and regional studies institute to fresh up my knowledge.
I would like to pursue my education with a PhD under your supervision, where I can preferably focus on foreign policy, the EU, the EU enlargement, and the Eastern European Partnership (EEP) by considering the risks and benefits, and external impacts of this approach. Please let me know how I can proceed to apply to join your research group in 2023.
