During my graduate study, I tried to consolidate my understanding through further research such as studying the mechanism for insulin resistance, polycystic ovary syndrome, and papillary thyroid carcinoma. My MSc thesis was performed to evaluate the relationship between Citrullus colocynthis (L.) Schrad. Seed extract, gluconeogenic enzymes and diabetes disease. I was fortunate to learn several basic techniques such as PCR, Real-time PCR, gel-electrophoresis, chromatography, plant extraction, and diabetes mellitus induction in rat. In addition, I tried to improve my knowledge in design and develop research projects and after that, I got enough experience to get several grants from institutions in Iran.
After completing my MSc with the second rank in our class, I started my Ph.D. course without any delay. Regarding my experience during my MSc, in the first days of the Ph.D. course, I tried to learn more deeply about diabetes mellitus but my professor suggested that I work on association between some organochlorine pesticides with epigenetic alterations and oxidative stress in thyroid tumor patients. As suspected, the research confirmed that OCPs could contribute to PTC progression through several mechanisms including epigenetic alterations and the generation of oxidative stress (OS). Moreover, during my Ph.D. course, I have learned methods such as polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE), gas chromatography (GC), nested-methylation-specific PCR (N-MSP), western blotting, molecular docking, molecular dynamics, and bisulfite treatment.
