Hamidreza Arasteh (M'20), born in Zanjan, Iran, in 1988, is an electrical engineer specializing in various domains of power systems. His academic journey commenced with a B.Sc. from Tabriz University, Tabriz, Iran, in 2010, followed by an M.Sc. from Tarbiat Modares University (TMU), Tehran, Iran, in 2012, and a Ph.D. from Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), Tehran, Iran in 2017, all in electrical engineering. He has been recognized for his academic prowess, earning distinctions such as the top graduate of both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs. He was awarded by Tabriz University, and Azarbaijan Sharghi provincial governorship in 2010. Hamidreza has also been acknowledged for his scholarly contributions, notably achieving placement among the top 1% reviewers in Engineering on Publons’ global reviewer database from 2017 to 2018. Since 2017, he has been a part of the “Power Systems Operation and Planning Research Department” at the “Niroo Research Institute” (NRI). Throughout his tenure, he has undertaken various roles within the institute, ranging from serving as a research member and project manager/supervisor to leading as the Head of the Microgrid research track.
In addition to his contributions to academia, Hamidreza embarked on an industrial sabbatical at the Office of Economy, Investment, and Regulation of Water and Electricity Market, showcasing his dedication to bridging the gap between academia and industry.
His research interests span a wide spectrum of power systems, including renewable integration, demand response, smart grid, microgrids, data analysis, energy management, electricity markets, and optimization. Hamidreza has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, recognizing his exceptional achievements and dedication to advancing the field of electrical engineering.
