I am Maryam Hojatizadeh, holding a Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Microbiology from the University of Isfahan, and a Master's degree in Medical Immunology from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Public Health, Department of Pathobiology. During my undergraduate studies, I consistently ranked among the top students in my class, achieving a GPA of 17.42 (3.58 on a 4.0 scale). After a one-year hiatus, I pursued my Master's degree and attained a GPA of 17.62 (3.52 on a 4.0 scale). Although I did not have specific research publications during my undergraduate studies, I maintained a strong academic record, ranking third in my class based on GPA. Subsequently, I ranked 13th in the entrance exam for the Master's program in Immunology.
My Master's thesis, titled "Production and Purification of recombinant HBeAg and HBcAg of Hepatitis B Virus and Production of Polyclonal Antibodies Against recombinant HBeAg and Structural and Functional Characterization," was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Fazl Shokri and Dr. Forough Golsaz Shirazi. The thesis aimed to address critical issues related to Hepatitis B, a global health concern. Specifically, it focused on the HBeAg and HBcAg proteins, which play pivotal roles in the viral lifecycle. The results of my research demonstrated the feasibility of producing recombinant HBeAg and HBcAg, which could have significant implications for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
