Rezvan Joonbakhsh

My name is Rezvan Joonbakhsh and it is my great pleasure to submit my application for a PhD position. I graduated with a master's degree in Genetics from the University of Isfahan (One of the top-quality universities in Iran) as a top student (17.93/20 or 3.82 / 4). Furthermore, I reached a band score of 7 on the IELTS exam. The title of my thesis is "Analysis of HAR1A expression in breast cancer" which was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Sadeq Vallian and a significant portion of my MSc project was allocated to analyzing lncRNA expression differences in various subgroups of breast cancer patients in TCGA data and confirming the obtained results with real-time PCR technique. Also, by constructing the ceRNA network, the role of this marker in the cell, and different signaling pathways were investigated. I have the expertise and a keen interest in high-throughput data Analysis (RNA-seq and Microarray) and experience working with the WGCNA algorithm. Furthermore, I have theoretical knowledge of single-cell, chip seq analysis, and machine learning. I am passionate about working in these areas or training other new skills to combine them with my prior knowledge.
