I was born in 1989 in Isfahan, Iran. Since the early beginning of my education, I was known as a curious student with special interests and abilities in math, physics, empirical sciences, and literature. I continued my education in high school at one of the oldest and most famous schools in Isfahan. Being eager to continue learning, I was able to pass the university’s entrance examination. I competed with more than half a million students in a nationwide exam and came in the rank of 3948th. As a result, I was admitted as the first person to the environmental science and engineering at the Natural Resources Engineering Department of Isfahan University of Technology in Isfahan (IUT), one of the top four Engineering Schools in Iran. I found the field of environmental science and engineering extremely interesting and enjoyed learning about vast innovative ideas in this field. During the undergraduate course, I had an intense passion to learn the broader meaning of life and to experience its different aspects of it. Throughout my undergraduate study, I attended lectures, workshops and carried out self-studies on various topics. I also took part in sports, practiced music, and read literature. I learned to learn English as a foreign language since I believe that a new language is a new way of looking at life. After completing the bachelorette program, I felt that my knowledge in my favorite field, Environmental pollution, was very limited and incomplete and I needed to take part in graduate programs to learn how to use my basic B.Sc. education as a tool in environmental engineering. The M.Sc program was a new start for me. After eight months of persistent study of at least ten hours a day, I came in the rank of 76th among more than ten thousand participants and I was able to be admitted to the Isfahan University of Technology –(IUT) to continue the graduate program at Environmental pollution engineering at Natural Resources Engineering Department. As IUT has been the Center of Excellence in the Field of Environmental Pollution in my country, it has provided me with more opportunities to follow my graduate program. I have conducted my research under the supervision of Dr. N. Mirghafari, and Dr. M. Soleymani the best and most well-known professor in the field of Environmental pollution in Iran. They recruited me in their group among many bright students admitted to the graduate program. In order to prove myself worthy of their trust, I even studied harder and passed my courses with high grades. During passing courses, my great passion for learning also inspired me to carry out extra curriculum studies in related fields, which led to some research projects with other students. These projects led to several papers at accredited international and national conferences such as the 4th National Industrial Ventilation & Hygiene Conference, the Iranian National Conference on Environment and Energy (INCEE), the 10th International Energy Conference, and so forth. Another extensive project was done regarding the identification of environmental pollution sources and the improvement of heavy metals treatment systems during collaboration with Emdad Sanaye Engineering Group as an HSE advisor. I am collaborating with the Isfahan University of Technology in a project named “emission inventory of Qom Province,” currently which is to provide a report for the Iranian Department of Environment. During performing these projects, I was able to demonstrate that I am not a quitter! Much of my work went beyond what was expected for those courses, but I felt both a strong urge to explore further and a keen sense of responsibility that I must see through what I have started. Therefore, I have worked tirelessly for the past three years on my M.Sc thesis, namely "Use of the Sludge of Stone-Cutting for Removal of Sulfur Dioxide". Having completed my thesis, I was able to successfully publish the results as a paper in The Journal of Pollution. This was a very demanding project and I ensured I was fully up to speed with the state of the art. I have since gone on to develop other novel ideas with Professor O. Hertel of Aarhus University, Denmark, and Dr. C. Jones of the National Institute of Integrative Medicine Hawthorn, Australia, and its outcomes have been published in the Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition, I have collaborated with other professors from Isfahan University of Technology including Dr. M. Soleimani in GIS-based Emission Inventory Development for Qom Province and Dr. A. Lotfi in the fields of environmental health, risk assessment, and public health. In this regard, I have submitted its results in the Journal of Environmental Health Science and Engineering, and also to the Journal of Air Quality, Atmosphere, and Health. When studying in Environmental Pollution Engineering and performing projects, I constantly regretted that the limited time prevented me from pursuing the new ideas I encountered. I think the short period of M.Sc. studies is barely sufficient to cover even a little part of the infinite ocean of information on Environmental Engineering and its wide applications.
