I am a medical doctor and researcher with over 7 years of clinical research and more than 4 years of clinical experience, currently familiarizing myself with aspects of healthcare in Canada. I developed basic surgical skills and procedures during my internship, including suturing, casting, CT, NGT, airway, and urinary catheterization. I have also observed and aided in multiple abdominal, thoracic, and spinal surgeries and gained experience in the pre-operative evaluation as well as post-operative care.
Having started research in the early years of medical school, I gained extended experience in Medical Imaging (CT, MRI), Scientific Writing, Data Analysis (IBM SPSS), and pre-operative planning with Surgimap Nemaris®, and Mimics Innovative Suite®. Later, I helped young medical researchers as a voluntary research mentor. To expand my computer-based pre-operative planning skills I have familiarized myself with Python programming and Machine Learning in the hopes of using AI to help prevent medical and surgical errors.
My main research interests are combining imaging techniques, such as MRI or CT and AI to better understand the structure and function of the brain and the spinal cord, and to develop new techniques to treat spinal cord injuries.
